Welcome jot

Hi, my name is Matt Antis and welcome to my raw, real and non-mainstream “Poem-A-Day” section of the Ink Jot Kingdom. Daily, I will post a rhyme, song, or an audio recording of impactful, spoken words (but not slam poetry) for the next 30 days!

Feel free to share your own comments, critique or works. I can handle whatever you dish out but my two requests are that you don’t critique the works of other people (unless they request it) and if you don’t have something constructive to say then don’t say anything at all (this doesn’t mean that you can’t share if something made you feel a negative emotion… I totally want you to tell me if it makes you feel anything!)

I hope you all enjoy the fun word play and “thought provoking” artwork!

Yes, the artwork (when added) will probably be bad. Maybe someday we will get a good artist to spruce things up. We’ll see.

For those interested in writing poetry please visit the Poet’s Quest Board whenever you feel like it for the inspiration and challenge of the day.

The Goal

The goal of “Poam-A-Day” is to write a Poem in as little amount of time as possible conveying as much meaning as one can where narrative is prioritized above rhyme and meter—but there must be rhythm. Quantity over quality. Then, after every 30 poems you get to pick 3 and go back and edit them. For me. I will choose one of the poems. The second will be chosen by fellow writers and poets. The third will be chosen by critics and fans!

I haven’t figured out how I’m going to do it yet but super-critics and super-fans will eventually get more votes. So the more you help out, uh, the more you help out.

I invite you all to join me in this challenge of writing poems. If you prefer to be a critic or a fan then your likes, dislikes and comments are super appreciated! Thank you all!
