Abide

Fracture on my hollow heart
Fill with faith, let lies depart
Lord, please wash the sin inside
A flood only You can part

Heart ache fracture fills with light
My sins are hidden from sight
Your mercy gives pause to doubt
Don’t know what to think is right

Spirit please be my teacher
My inner good news preacher
Shake me like a static beast
Let me know I’m your creature

Abide with me, abide in me

Pure refreshing from above
I long each day for Your love
You count my tears every night
And at morning send a dove

Heaven I can’t imagine
Too wonderful to fathom
A ruler who co-labors?
In Him I’m not abandoned

Search my life for things taken
Turned upside down I’m shaken
The last piece of darkness falls
I know I’m not forsaken

Rewire all that remains
Never forget Jesus’s stains
Thank you for making me whole
Rejoice in the One who reigns!

Abide with me, abide in me
Jesus reign in me!

Matt Antis creates online as a freelance writer and novelist who formerly lived as a serial small-business entrepreneur. His life’s goal is to share knowledge, encourage, and challenge others through a coach-student relationship.

An unexpected deployment with the Army in 2009 halted his scholastic achievement, but! He learned the bulk of business in the proverbial trench elbow to elbow with a team of professionals who he is forever grateful for.

When he’s not being a husband, dad, shooting his bow or training parkour, you can find him teaching Sunday school, advising parkour gyms, writing for inkjotkingdom.com and his wife’s children’s book website, whitneyantis.com.
