Fortune’s Eye
Fortune favors the discontent
Her wheel spins greedy heads
Who stays off the wheel?
They who spew Fortune’s bread
Traveler’s Notes
Destination without direction
Yet my senses will bring me there soon
The faith of legends moving mountains
Uprooted, dancing to a new tune

The Salty One
Always liked that extra flavor
A punch in my mouth to savor
If I find a dish lackluster
I will grab the salt and duster
Next Best Peace
My next piece is my best peace
Respite from my sins
Time fractured governance
Balanced on grim pins
Spun Poet Sonnet
Using a poem to re-write spun news
You imagine you’re a paid cartoonist
Painting dark red and forgetting soft blues
Makes you an ignorant opportunist
The Matron and The Man
My attempt at an Orwellian poem while taking aim at George Orwell’s quote: ““Perhaps one did not want to be loved so much as to be understood.”
Written for the All Poetry contest / Quote Prompt: George Orwell (1984)
Reprieve From Pain
In the series: Dark Night of the Soul - Part 2
I’m feeling fine
With peace of mind
Knowing that my Savior’s work
Has sown this heart, tilled this dirt
