Reprieve From Pain
I’m feeling fine
With peace of mind
Knowing that my Savior’s work
Has sown this heart, tilled this dirt
His word took root
Pressed my sour fruit
Lifted in the sinner’s cup
He drank wrath, lifted me up
Wrapped in arms of love
Never did he leave
Overflowing breath of God
I’m corrected with your rod
Though I’m in pain
Your grace’s like rain
You bring peace within
While I wrestle sin
The blood of Jesus lets me prevail
He leads me like a lamb through the vale
(Lord of love
Come from above
And take me out of here!)
A new body
Pleasing and whole
Like fresh grounds boiling, I wait
To enter your pearly gate
Lord, I can’t wait to go home!
