Ink Stains
I love to blot that clean white page
I love to jot strong words in ink
I’m lost for thoughts so I doodle the corner
When I’m lost for words, I pace and think
If I have too many thoughts, I walk long
When I’m too happy I take my family
An idea on the tip of my noggin’?
I sit with blank paper and jot frantically
Scratch by pencil at the golf course
Borrow a pen at the coffee house
Finger draw on a dirty truck by force
Clickety-clack with a keyboard and mouse
Anywhere I’m at, I might get an idea
Brushing teeth or on shopping spree
I just joke, I shop online you see
Don’t take me from my board with keys!
I could be out galloping on my unicorn
Or on my hover board, or floating in space
Or watching my golden sheep get shorn
Or racing, by hand walking the steeplechase
But wherever I’m at, you’ll see me wonder
You’ll see me and think, “What’s he imagining?”
With my head in the clouds, I’m prone to blunder
But don’t be afraid to ask, “What’s happening?”
I’m happy to talk about my hopes and fears
I’ll always share the ink stains between ears
