One Way Trek
Fluffy lizard from the south sea
Climbed a green mountain, majestically
He neither dillyed nor dallied
He flew to the top
To drink the Queen’s tea
While the tea was still hot

If I Were a Boyscout
Crunchy critters in the woods
Show me the sweet and salty goods
Bean burrito cooking up
Raspberry slurpee in my cup
Vacation From Mundane Tasks
Sand spills from loose lips onto the matte page
Chiseled stone lips that stole my beating heart
My dry pen smears short loose words that are strange
Scratch a camel, add a cart. He’s my transport
Vampire Farmer
Dry skin within
Parched shout without
Context invites fright
To well-armed farmers
Try, Try Again Parents
They asked for a fort at the crack of dawn
Tap, tap—the next request didn’t take long
The food that was prepared suits them just fine
Psych! They’re finished—detonated land mine
Tuskgutter
Any Pathfinder fans out there? This is an ode I wrote after our party of four was almost destroyed at the beginning of the campaign by an oversized boar.
The poem isn’t that good… but that’s because I rolled an 8. ;)
Contemplation of Career Change
Spewn altercation in a public park
A diffident passerby, becomes the mark
I reveal truth bombs while a bird sprays
We catch them off guard, nobody stays
Ink Stains
I love to blot that clean white page
I love to jot strong words in ink
I’m lost for thoughts so I doodle the corner
When I’m lost for words, I pace and think
Rook on the Book
Rooked at gunpoint at a quarter to eight
Booked the assailant at half past ten
Send the lady out to scream again
Dangerous World Out There
Gain control, a second too late
My tongue is in overdrive, a fist breaks my face
I’m on my back now
I’m shrimped on the floor
I let loose another, I’m ready for more
Smiling Upside Down
Yesterday there were a lot of people coming around
Wondering why I’m leaning upside down
At first they thought I was a joke
Now they understand that my smiler is broke
