Living in Babylon

The world is sliding down the knife of deception
Separation falling fence walkers without exception
There appear to be two options, the last one unheard
But the two are under one kingdom, look for a third

If you are stuck thinking in terms of your mortal frame
And your own selfish rights, behaviors will look the same
Look beyond yourself, and the factions of Babylon
First, consider yourself a stranger to see the phenomenon

Second, divorce the political body that has you ensnared
Be warned when you search for truth it may leave you scared
Third, overcome it, even though you’re considered uncouth
Expect to be mistreated when you share discovered Truth

You need to find a savior for the part of you that is immortal
Choosing a champion—studying religion, may feel remorseful
You’ll be confronted with the guilt of your sin—it’s painful
But it’s amazing reuniting with a Holy God who is faithful

While you’re searching for someone to give your soul a scrub
Religion that doesn’t address your offense is a social club
In a relationship, it can be difficult when you’re the weak one
Let me help you out and introduce you to God’s own Son

Welcome to peace in your heart when God is before country
But that doesn’t mean we don’t obey appointed authority
You’re on the other side now, a part of the Holy Bride of Christ
Your Champion will guide you, clothe you, for you he sacrificed

The prophetic Word of God which has never been wrong
Has warned us that the world will again unite under a song
The Babylonian kingdom of this world is full of evil and greed
Stay tuned to the Lord’s kingdom, it’s coming, it’s here, and it’s what we all need
