Spun Poet Sonnet
Using a poem to re-write spun news
You imagine you’re a paid cartoonist
Painting dark red and forgetting soft blues
Makes you an ignorant opportunist
Peace of Man
He wanted peace but didn’t battle his desire
He missed the public declaration for his soul
They gave him power to bring peace in time of internal war
Submitted to self-pleasure, he gave his enemy control
Fear of Pain
Rather than ruining their future by justifying our past we should confess our wrongdoing and admit our shame. Yet the elite do the opposite.
Greed’s Sake
Public declaration that you plan to sue?
Why do you announce it, Mister Well-to-do?
Are you offering peace, do you need the hype?
Is that just an invitation for a bribe?
Messenger of War
Don’t gaze too slow at the towering stronghold
Focus on the goal down the rolling long road
While the answer soars higher than the ramparts
This message is only for the cast down heart
Before the Arc
Expect a year of disparity
We’re slaves to government charity
Leaders treat you like you don’t matter
Elitist ears weary of chatter
It’s not like it’s an election year
They’ll inflate people with greed and fear
Contemplation of Career Change
Spewn altercation in a public park
A diffident passerby, becomes the mark
I reveal truth bombs while a bird sprays
We catch them off guard, nobody stays
Living in Babylon
The world is sliding down the knife of deception
Separation falling fence walkers without exception
There appear to be two options, the last one unheard
But the two are under one kingdom, look for a third
left and right gods
Faith in man without faith in God is senseless
Hope in man is bleak
We the people choose left and right gods
Loud gods who are weak
