Spun Poet Sonnet
Using a poem to re-write spun news
You imagine you’re a paid cartoonist
Painting dark red and forgetting soft blues
Makes you an ignorant opportunist
Everyone seems to have their agenda
Why would an artist perpetuate lies?
Remember your first love and surrender
Think back, it shouldn’t come as a surprise
Allegiance to truth shines with more splendor
Start again! Together we’ll dry sad eyes
It’s better to bleed blood than piss ink
Gold hides in a mountain of straw hats
We write poetry that lets people think
Time we got back to swinging the axe
