Valentine’s Day Song
‘Valentine’s Day Song’ for my amazing wife Whitney
A thousand blessings wrap a mind that has me caring
Face of a beauty I can’t deny has me sharing
My feelings so convoluted, untangle while I’m with you
Your dark hair like ale has me drinking from dawn to
Starlight reflecting from your eyes... yeah, I was staring
Away from you but it’s your smile and scent I am breathing
Those I know wondering at me
How can the unseen be so distracting?
The kindness of your heart, the way in which you are
It’s your love
It’s your smile
Got a hold of me
All the while
It’s your care
It’s your grace
It’s in your eyes
And beautiful face
Memories in the presence of your body has me confessing
How great a Mom you are, what a blessing
To think that we get to watch our love walk the earth
The sacrifice, the pain you made while giving birth
Your faithfulness to the family leaves me dumbstruck
Love to your Creator reminds me: fall to my knees, get unstuck
It’s the way in which you draw me exacting
How does the light spin that you’re refracting?
The kindness of your heart, the way in which you are
It’s your love
It’s your smile
Got a hold of me
All the while
It’s your care
It’s your grace
Don’t wanna share
You with this place
It’s your care
It’s your grace
Love in your eyes
Love on your face
