Steps We Take Together
The joy from the Lord’s grace overwhelms me
Though the hole in my heart is infinite, You are infinite
Though my body cannot contain my God, your Spirit has made me your dwelling place
A Helper so that I may bear that joy and any sorrow
My Life In Shift
This poem is an exercise. I’m a writer, not a singer. I should be able to get into someone else’s head and write what they feel—what they want to sing or rap about.
Sorry Before Sunset
I’m here to say sorry before the sun sets
Throwing rocks at your window before you undress
My anger planted while you’re at rest
Don’t grow bitter, beautiful, your joy is all I have left
Champion Chaser
I’ve been brought into the brotherhood of saints
It was my Lord Jesus who initiates
Do you want to run the race of life with speed?
Do you want to drop weight so you feel freed?
Watch Your Own Back
The guard high on a tall tower
The patrol walkin’ around us
Observe for seven, eight hours
In order to protect us
Fighting Ire
This one goes out to those dealing with pain and the frustration that accompanies pain. You’re not alone. Ten out of ten people die, it’s true. Don’t cut it short. Do something, even while in pain.
