Sorry Before Sunset

Sunrise Sunset.jpg

I’m here to say sorry before the sun sets
Throwing rocks at your window before you undress
My anger planted while you’re at rest
Don’t grow bitter, beautiful, your joy is all I have left

Don’t let your anger bloom as you sleep
Without your touch I feel incomplete

Hear my cry
Into the night
I want to hold our dream alive
Oh, one last time

I’m here to say sorry before it’s too late
I know I made a big mistake
I’m still growing alright
We can handle this tonight
Settle this before the sunrise

Take a breath
The window squeaks

Wha-what’d you say?
What’d I say?
You’re looking at me sideways?
Oh, the window is stuck? I’m stuck in the driveway
I’m sorry, did you—uh huh
You didn’t know I’d be back tonight?

So you didn’t get my message at a quarter to three?
How ‘bout the one at ten past eight?
Excuse me, one sec
You couldn’t hear me
What was I sayin’?
I lost my wheels, I’ll be up to explain

Yeah, but could you open the front door
I just lost my keys in a race, I know it was immature

Uh, excuse me, what?

It’s no big deal, I’ll make it right
Growing up is taking time
I promise I’m worth it
You don’t deserve this
Help! I’m an addict for the last time

I’m here to say sorry before it’s too late
I know I made a big mistake
I’m still growing alright
We can settle this before the sunrise

Hear my cry
Into the night
I want to hold our dream alive
Oh, one last time

One last time
