Warrior Fatigue
I joined them at last
Warriors of the past
Lives placed in a sieve
So loved ones could live
I came back alive
With all my pieces
But fighting won’t stop
”War never ceases.”
Iron and Clay
Awake on the pillow at dawn
Prince of power equips hunger
Plagued by cravings boundless nature
Rise, unexpected war monger
Inspiration
Imperfect thoughts coupled with rusty tools
I had hoped for perfection, neglecting the fool
Who lives within me yelling to close shop
And the firm voice whispering, “Don’t stop.”
Hindsight Hearse
Took too long to figure out what matters
The epiphany escapes, glass shatters
Exercising freedom like burrowing rabbits
Tired, digging at the walls of my habits
Living in Babylon
The world is sliding down the knife of deception
Separation falling fence walkers without exception
There appear to be two options, the last one unheard
But the two are under one kingdom, look for a third
The Lifelong Politician
The facade must keep going on
Into darkness, into pouring rain
Bury mountains before admitting
Wrongdoing has driven me insane
Watch Your Own Back
The guard high on a tall tower
The patrol walkin’ around us
Observe for seven, eight hours
In order to protect us
