Rook on the Book
Rooked at gunpoint at a quarter to eight
Booked the assailant at half past ten
Send the lady out to scream again
Watch Your Own Back
The guard high on a tall tower
The patrol walkin’ around us
Observe for seven, eight hours
In order to protect us
Dangerous World Out There
Gain control, a second too late
My tongue is in overdrive, a fist breaks my face
I’m on my back now
I’m shrimped on the floor
I let loose another, I’m ready for more
Wrestling with Addiction
How long will this deep soul battle go on?
And the moment you declare the Lord’s generosity
The shimmering light of hope reflects off a jagged corner of my fractured soul
Step aside young soul, and watch the Lord uproot the monstrosity
Smiling Upside Down
Yesterday there were a lot of people coming around
Wondering why I’m leaning upside down
At first they thought I was a joke
Now they understand that my smiler is broke
Fighting Ire
This one goes out to those dealing with pain and the frustration that accompanies pain. You’re not alone. Ten out of ten people die, it’s true. Don’t cut it short. Do something, even while in pain.
Country Construction Site
This is what happens when you wake up wanting to attempt writing a country song and your three year old son begs you to write about construction vehicles.
